If you have a need for a good folding saw then I highly recommend this one. Bailey's has all Silky saws on sale until 8/15 with free shipping on many of them, including this one. I bought it last year and it's sweet. I previously had a SOG folding saw that cost about $15. It was junk and my arm almost fell off from using it to cut a few large limbs last summer. The Silky is sooooo much better. It wasn't cheap, but it's totally worth it if you do a lot of trimming for treestand or ground blind placement.

Looks great but too pricey for me. I think I only paid 19 for my Buck saw!

I've had a bunch over the years. The absolute best has been the Sierra saw. The last one I bought was being sold by Coughland in WalMart. They are 100 times better than some of the expensive saws I have used.

Be careful with one as they are VERY sharp.

I've used the Gerber retractable saw for 3 or 4 seasons. About $25 I think? Very light, with sharp aggressive teeth that are great for pruning. I've cut down several trees as big as 6" diameter with it.

I had a Gerber saw. A Silky eats it for lunch. Porsche vs. Toyota.

Have used a Wyoming Pack Saw for 30 years now. Comes with 2 blades, one for wood & other for bone. Have used it for everything from building shelter, cutting shooting lanes & butchering deer & elk. Have never seen a folding saw that even comes close to the durability. No plastic parts on this saw,and takes up very little sapce in pack. Believe I gave about $40 for it, so that comes out to about $1.30 per year!

Negative. Silky saws eat Gerber saws for lunch. They aren't even in the same league in terms of quality and performance. The new Gerber saws are made in China. There are multiple folding hand saws better than the Gerber.

I've used Gerber for years...and had to replace them about every two years on average. They cut great., but the blades can bend and snap, and the handles eventually crack at the folding point. I'm ready for one that will cut as well as the gerber but last ten years.

Gerbers are absolute junk since they outsourced them to china..just like everything else made in China. Silkys are by far the best I have ever used. They are constructed of quality materials that LAST.

Haha, I have an "outdoor products" folding saw from "The Wal-Mart." for ~ $5. I got it so hot cutting one night, at a campfire I bent the blade at a 90 degree angle. I placed in the fire coals for a few hours and re-worked it. It still works but that silkie saw looks great. I might consider one sometime.

My Gerber plastic handle saw broke last year and I had cut very little with this saw it wasn't even 2 seasons old.

Anybody ever use a silk???

http://www.silkysaws.com/Silky_Saws/Fold...h.bbvB5Uik.dpbs

I've heard good things. I don't bother to back my gerber anymore it's too much effort to cut anything over a couple inches.

"WICKED" Todd's products are awesome and he is a stand up guy, avid hunter. I have not used a better saw!

Impressive video considering the limb was limp if you will (not being held steady with other hand). The saw in the video must've been really sharp. Thanks for sharing.
