Anyone planted these Daikon radishes in your plots? Planted purple top turnips last year and the deer got on them good, but only with 2 weeks left in the season. Just wondering if the radish would be a earlier browse brassica compared to the late frost turnips.

They loved the radishes on our lease.

Was wondering this myself. I planted Biologic Maximum last year for the deer to never touch. I'm thinking I will try radishes this year

Bought 50 lbs of them and mixed half the bag with 54# of Maximum (which our deer love anyway). Sowed them Saturday and got rain that night. Will see how they do.

Don't know if CO-OP has or not. Bought mine online from Hancock Seed: $179.00 for 50 lbs. delivered.

I've planted Daikons from Welter seed for years. The deer love to eat the green tops on our place, then they will eat the radishes after they get big enough and the tops get stemmy.

A couple years ago I watched a FAT doe waddle out into a plot with her two big fawns and proceed to grab a big bite at the base of the radish top, bite the top off, and spit the whole thing out to the side. Then she ate big chunks of the radish until it was down to ground level. Then she moved on to the next one. That went on for a couple hours.
