Best way to hunt large pine thickets? Deer sign and trails seem to be everywhere more than one distinct trail. There are a couple small hardwood hollars. Any good tips are appreciated!

Find where & when they are going to eat. Act like the Big Bad Wolf somewhere in between. \:D

I like to hunt the "edges" of pine thickets. Look for main trails coming out of the pines and into the hardwoods, etc. If the acorns are falling a set up like that is hard to beat.

Great to stillhunt just inside the edges during a rain. Can't beat them for stillhunting on very windy days or when it's blistering cold. Like others have said, hunt the edges when you're standhunting.

block some trails and funnel them onto the trails you are hunting.

I haven't really hunted a pine thicket but hunt cedar thickets pretty often... I like to just pick a tree near a good trail and sit down, deer seem to move all over the place in a cedar thicket. The deer I have killed in cedars have been near the edge of a field but still inside the woods.

If you can find a thicket inside a pine planting check it out. Deer will bed and travel anywhere in the pines but seem really attracted to inside thickets and their edges. "Outside" hunting pressure will also put them in the pines because most people don't hunt them. If you can find a "deery" area surrounding pines all the better.
