Would clover seed spread on a mowed hay field just prior to wet weather germinate/sprout and grow? If it did/would is it in any way detrimental to the next hay season?

I would say yes it would ,but I would wait till mid to late Oct to try it. It would start out strong in early spring and die out as soon as the real hot weather hits next summer.
