Not uncommon to see all types of critters using a salt lick. Doubt that yote (which I originally mistook for a fox!) bothered the deer. Probably just getting a little salt. \:D

Why is it that some deer are terribly thin, sometimes bony, in areas where there is plenty of food and the other deer are healthy? I have some at my salt lick that are big and healthy and a couple that come eat salt that look like they are anorexic. Any known explanation for this?

In summer, most deer look thin and bony. That's just their natural summer look.
