They only go in through the back door, and they keep a low profile...that's why you never hear them bark.

was walking out of Forks of River with mike243 and his grandson after a dove hunt. We were almost to the parking lot when a young woman released her lab and shepard from her suv. neither dog was on a leash and did not obey her commands. They started running toward us barking and growling. Mike and I both told her to get her dogs. After about 5 minutes of struggle she managed to get the dogs back in the vehicle. Mike and I walked up past her vehicle and unloaded the rounds from our shotguns.

To me, pets and children are a lot a like. Well behaved dogs and children can be a pleasure to be around, but anything less makes it miserable for everyone. I don't have kids, I have two dogs. I love mine dearly, and I have no use for a dog that does'nt listen or does'nt have obedience...I don't carry mine anywhere. Just like driving a car. I trust myself, its others that worry me. Hell hath no fury if a dog was to mess with mine unprovoked. Shat hitting the fan will be an epic understatement.

We were at the beach the week of the fourth and I was walking back to our condo about dusk after being out on the beach surf fishing. A guy with some little white mixed breed had it OFF leash walking through the parking lot. The dog came after me barking with ears laid back and teeth showing. Clearly past the point of false charge. I spun around and whipped the $hit out of it in one swift motion with a 7' uglystik. Dog went yelping back to owner. I never said a word, cause I knew if I did, it would not be nice and would probably not help the situation. He scooped up the dog and walked off.

If people understood this one simple fact, the whole world would be a better place.

Nothing worse than a screeching kid howling like a banshee in a movie theater, restaurant, or store. When I was a kid, if I carried on like that, it was a quick trip out to the car for a whuppin.

Same for dogs. If your dog acts aggressive, don't be mad when I break a boot off in its a##.

Its a lot of liberal "it takes a village" nonsense, expecting other people to tolerate YOUR lack of responsibility.

"If everyone swept in front of their own door, the whole world would be clean" (ancient proverb )

I don't mind when my close friends carry their dogs over.

My dogs have never been worthy of outside presence.

I noticed someone with a young German Shepherd waiting in line at the Crab Trap restaurant in Destin yesterday. It was mannered, at least it was sitting. I thought about this thread. I told my wife (rather sarcastically) that you just gotta love it when people take their dogs EVERYfreakingWHERE they go. Course, she said that if she had a bulldog, she'd take it everywhere. I just rolled my eyes.
