not a bad deal. However I do have an old sears motor 7.0 hp 2 stroke that was given to me recently. Finally got her running today and plan to be on water Monday. It's an air cooled motor but the lower part/exhaust is water cooled. Must be a '70s model but so far it runs good. 24:1 gas oil mix dang that's gonna be smoky. Hope it pushes my boat well until I can afford a 20 or 25 hp.

I have had 2 4 strokes. A 30 and the 90 yammi that is on my sea ark now. I have had experience with 2 strokes and would say without a doubt that I would go back with a 4 stroke again if I was buying another motor. Ease of maintenance, no mixing oil and gas, quiet, starts easy and just generally enjoyable to run wide WOT and still be bale to talk. Not to mention my 4 stroke 90 pushes my boat at 44 mph gps without a steel prop or jack plate. I know several people with 2 stroke motors on boats similar to mine that are several miles an hour slower. It may just be a prefference but that is mine.

I've got a 40hp 4 stroke jet and LOVE IT! It's quiet and all I have to do is pull up to gas pump and fill up the tank. Of course I am lucky enough to be right by a gas station that has non ethanol gas. In your situation I would probably go 2 stroke because of the less weight and cost.

The phone was in the boat. If you would have taken the time to look over the bank of the river you would have seen me and said boat right there and we could have talked. I saw your truck before I saw that I missed your call. ;\)
