The pre 64 I have is a .270 and looks a lot the same. I am thinking a Vortex Viper or Nikon Monarch.

Both good choices. I like the Vortex. That scope is a Sightron SII Big Sky 3-12x42, it's also a good choice. Check out a Minox ZA5 as well.

Here are the picsmof the 3-9x40 Buckmaster in the DNZ low mount. Should easily handle a 42mm Monarch with standard sporter contour barrel (mine's a lightweight contour).
