I was in CA this week, north of San Francisco. We were at a buffet restaurant one night and some guy had his ankle biter on a leash going through the line with everyone else. No one seemed upset. Fortunately, we were finished eating, but don't think I'll be going back there.

What about everybody else around them? They didn't get the choice.

I think the PetSmart and PetCo model of encouraging pets in their stores is a great idea. I expect it when I go in. But PetCo and PetSmart are PET STORES not restaurants, home improvement stores, or grocery stores.

At a church softball game I watched a St. Bernard tear into a kid with a hotdog. The dog weighed more than the 12 y/o girl who had it on a leash.

If that were my kid I would've beat that dog with my bat. Afterwards, I'd sue the owner and the city that allows this to go on.

I'm sure some will disagree but I can't stand the new fad of people thinking they can take their dog into EVERY store and to sporting events.

Was in Lowes today and see two dogs exchanging butt-sniffs in the lumber aisle. Both owners watching like they are so proud of Mitzy and Bruno. Then have to go to Michaels Craft store (cuz I'm an artsy fartsy kinda guy) and some woman has her freaking dog barrelling down the aisles.

This past spring at my daughters city league soccer champ game there were two fights and two game interuptions because somebody's freaking dog ran after the ball on the field. Everyone just laughed but I raised heck about it... and of course I was the bad guy.

I just see it as part of the counter culture of society. There's quite a few people that treat their dogs like they are their kid.

I like dogs, I got two of them but they DON'T get hauled to any/every public place or event.

Rant over.

On the bright side, be glad it's just dogs. Can you imagine if those people brought their kids out into public?

Then again, my four legged dog is better behaved than most peoples' kids......and he's not that well behaved of a dog, either.

I understand your point but at the same time, at an outdoor event a person is capable of moving away or asking the individual with the dog to do so. I just figure there are leash laws and other requirements for controlling your dog in place so if someone wants to bring one to an outside event, no big deal.
