I just built a 6x8 shoot house that sits up about 12ft. Used the elevator bracket so my post sit out at 15ft corner to corner. Even though it is cross braced with bolts and wont move when I get on top and try to rock it to see what wiggle it has, I'm still weary at the force the wind could have. The best solution I could think of was anchoring in the post with a guide wire kind of like a telephone pole. Best thing I could come up with was a 4x4 concreted into the ground at an angle and then a guide wire attached at both post with an eye bolt. Anyone have any better ideas. Id hate to do all this work and just watch a bad storm blow it over.

I used two of those 3 foot anchors like they use on trailer houses on two sides of the blind under the cross braces so they are not in the way. I have two cables on each side attached to the anchor with tighteners to keep down pressure on the blind. Hard to see in this pick but you can see the cables under the cross brace. I also dug down about 10 inches under each leg and filled the hole with gravel so the legs don't settle into the dirt. Just for added measure I have a "T" post driven in by each leg and wired to the blind but don't really think I need them after seeing how well the anchors hold. Been in some pretty high wind and sets out in the open and cables still tight.
