This is the opposite, but I once got a ticket in CO for going 90 on the interstate. The ticket was only $60 and never showed up on my record. Win!

My wife got pulled over for 61 in a 45 a couple of weeks ago. It was right where a 55 drops to a 45. Cop was sitting in a "dirty" place in my opinion. But to be fair, 61 in a 55 was technically speeding also.

She said he was "very nice" and kept repeating "I hope you don't think I'm trying to be a jerk."

She didn't have her insurance card or registration with her (because we had to make copies of it for the accident a while back and forgot to put it back in the car) and he let her off with just a warning.

I told her she was very lucky she was a woman... because I , or any man, would have gotten a ticket. He wouldn't have been sitting in that area clocking people if he didn't intend to write a ticket.

You're either speeding or you're not, nothing technical about it. There aren't any "dirty" spots to sit. The 45 sign means 45 at the sign, it's up to the drivers to be slowed to 45 by that point. Gender didn't necessarily have any bearing on it. I sat and ran radar a lot. I made a lot of traffic stops from that. I issued written and verbal warnings far more often than I wrote tickets. Contrary to your beliefs, it isn't all about the tickets and money. Just painting it with a different brush. \:\)

I agree - speeding is speeding. But when you're parked 20 yards on the other side of the 45 sign in a spot that is going downhill, you're sitting in a dirty spot. Move down 100-200 yards and I have no problem with it. We can agree to disagree on that. \:\)

Bingo! We had one of those in our town for several years. Until, as the story is told, a friend of a city commissioner got a ticket through there. He complained enough that they raised the speed limit for a half mile \:D !

And you are also 100% correct on your wife getting out of the ticket for being a female! It has happened to my wife and daughter a couple of times as well. I don't think a male would have been so fortunate in either case!
