Anyone use one? Is it worth getting one or should I just get few extra cards and change out and check when I get home??

If you have one, what kind? Like?

Just carry your regular camera and look at them in the field.

I carry the Ol lap top, crawl back inter a tree, relax and look at the pics. I also buy my cards off eBay, that way if I am in a hurry I can switch out and go. You can buy 4 512 ad cards off eBay for 10 bucks.

Some cameras will not recognize the image/card format used by trail-cameras.

No, No, No, boys, you're doing it all wrong. Replace the SD cards in your cameras with SD card adapters loaded with mini SD cards. That way you can remove the little mini card and stick it in your phone. Carry a pocket full of mini's and swap them out real quick to keep scent to a minimum and view them up in the stand.

Unless of course you don't use a phone that accepts any type of card!

I would say it depends on how many cameras you check and how often you check them. I have 7 out I put the largest ad card they will take and lithium ion batteries and check them about a month and a half. The batteries are usually dead and cards full. I just swap them out because it takes a long time to look through that many pics and videos. Pricey at first but you only need two sets of cards. Save the images to your comp and delete the card.

I carry my digital camera to check cards, and when I want to pull the pics I bring my MacBook and transfer the files so I can put the card right back in the cam. Works for me.

I swap cards, but still often have an old laptop with me to look at pictures in the field. Sometimes I need to see what's on the camera to determine if the camera needs to be moved to a new location or not.

Were just doing 8GB cards that holds about 5100 pictures and were going to swap them out every few days and just take them home and look at them.
I could take my laptop being it has an SD slot but I figure just take them home and view them there.

Take a laptop or a iPad with sd card adapter. Have a hard time getting iPad to recognize Reconyx images. All others I have tried work fine.

I swap out cards and take the one from the camera back home to view pictures on my computer. Once you get a few extra cards, this works perfect.

Unless you need to see the pictures before you leave the property. Nothing worse than getting home only to realize the camera wasn't working or was aimed wrong.

I prefer to buy cameras that have built-in viewing screens, but not all cameras have that option (for $600, you would think Reconyx would have a viewing screen).

I just have two cards for each camera..that way I don't spend too much time in the area looking at my camera. Then, of course, everyone wants to see the pics that evening

Yeah, but BSK, you are using your cameras a lot differently than I am and need to assess whether the current location is good or not and you are constantly moving cameras to different properties. Mine are almost always over an established salt lick so I know the location and aiming is good - just want to see what pictures I got.

I also know that I won't ever see the individual buck while hunting anyway but it gives me something to daydream about. \:\)

Yup, in that situation, just swap them and go.

You and me both! I almost NEVER see the really great bucks I have on cam.

I have one but seldom use it. I keep extra SD cards with me, except for my plot watcher. It's 32GB. I only have 1. LOL!

I'm in Colorado visiting family right now and figured I'd put out some trail cams to see if I could catch anything good.
I've been just taking my garmin nuvi gps in my pocket and using it to view the micro sd cards. It has an image viewer function and does the job so far.
I'm running a primos ultra and a couple of moultries (m-80 & m-100) and can view the picture taken by these cameras.
