RS Mag has always tilted very left. Perhaps, they have gotten into the 'shock' cover of the year game like Time is.

I remember as a kid my brother got this mag religiously. At the same time frame we got a wood burning stove and my mom suggested saving the daily paper and my brothers RS's for fire starter.

My dad, in his redneck Archie Bunker style said "hell, we don't need to burn them. We'll all catch a buzz off of'em."

The last straw was the one with the cover of a naked John Lennon laying with Yoko Ono. My dad saw that and hit the roof and didn't stop.

Sorry CL, went on a nostalgia tour there.

RS was my design annual in College. I based nearly every project I did off of RS designs.
That was either before my political awaking or, possibly before Rock magazines became Politicized, Leftist garbage.

Maybe a little of both.

I think my favorite part of the magazine was the ads in the back. I remember asking my mother if I could order one of those Polish Solidarity t-shirts from the back of it.
