I need to replace the grips on an heirloom 1911. This belonged to my grandfather, and it is in remarkable condition save the grips. They have somehow warped, I'm assuming from some sort of chemical exposure.

Does anyone have a lead on some exact replacements? I've checked Numrich.

Thanks!

Do you know which model it is? I've got a friend that's a HUGE Colt collector.I can ask him and see if he might have any suggestions.

Talked to my friend and he said those grips are notorious for shrinking and/or warping and you may get lucky enouh to find some originals they may or may not fit your particular handgun due to the age and shrinkage factor.Hope this helps.
