I had the same thing. Entire Encore package- rifle, ML, and turkey barrel. It was OK but nothing special.

For a black powder gun and my peace of mind I prefer a new one. Looking to stay under $500-600 for total package.

I have a TC impact as well and love the gun, no experience with the others though so nothing to compare against. I'm sure they are all good guns, it seems to all be in how you take care of them no matter the brand.

bought the cva apex at Benton last year for 575 last year no scope. it took 4 deer last year and shoots 150 grains 777 pellets 223 grain powerbelts. a couple of my friends and family members liked their cva so I bought that one. my dad is diehard tc but last year after I killed 2 eight pts during ml I let him use it the next day he dropped two in there tracks. he didn't make fun of me for going cva instead of tc anymore. bottom line its like bows, trucks, and everything else all the companies make a good one in affordable price range good luck finding yours

I was going to buy an accrua but I ended up the the optima after have the t/c encore I am not really a fan of changing barrels at the range us I like a bolt action rifle a lot better then a single shot

If you wanting an inline that works and wont break the bank then I would suggest a CVA wolf. I bought one for my wife last year, $169 at wally world, a $50 thompson scope/kit, $50 at same place. Shoot 100gr of pyrodex pellets and a 245 gr power belt hollow point. Shot it 4 times to zero the scope and she shot it one time with a kill. Don't fall for the hype man, most deer are killed under well under 100 yards.

I bought a CVA Electra from Sportsman's Guide a few years ago for dirt cheap and I love it. The only drawback is they will not ship a muzzleloader to TN.

Check this out. I bought my V2 this year. One trip to the range so far. Excellent rifle, however, my buddy out shot me with his Optima. Hmmmm....

If you want an ACCURATE as SIN load for a CVA,
300gr Harvester Scorpion PT Gold, E-Z Load sabot " Black smooth", 110gr blackhorn209, CCI 209M primers. That load today in the Apex @ 100 yards literally had 3 shots touching. A bit firm to load but if you know how to hold the ramrod, no trouble at all.

No way I would buy a wolf one the guys in our club bought one and we spent half a day at the range with that gun trying to get it to group it couldn't handle the 150 grains white hots shot all over the paper change bullets from power belts to burnes and it helped a little bit he ended up having to go to loose powered at 85 grains and 245 hornady SST bullet shot group of 2 to 3 inches at 100 yards
