Yea I wasn't sure, thanks for clearing that up I wasn't sure at all about the longer one. Shorter one is a small mouth buffalo though right?


EDIT: I see now now, it's mouth doesn't curve down

Appears to be a bigmouth buffalo.

I personally like to bowfish in the winter. We shot this one last year while it was snowing.

No, Bigmouth and smallmouth buffalo are native to TN and are members of the sucker family. They are not a carp. The asian/silver and bighead carp are not native. They eat plankton and microscopic organisms that puts them in direct competition with forage fish such as threadfin shad and also gamefish fry that have just hatched......Where in lies the problem!

The 8 fish in the "center" of the last picture (4 on each side all turned the same way) are the asain or jumping carp.
They are EVERYWHERE at the spillway.
