I figured they mite be about the same but didnt want to waste time & money on buy'n the first thing I found, bought some cheapos carbons from wally world to learn on before buy'n upper end arrows.

Did have thoughts of fletch'n up some of the 4 inch vanes from my stash & then some of the shorter stiff ones they use now days, just to compare accuracy.

I actually switched from duravanes to a a blazer type feather. I got them at Basspro, cant remember the name off hand but I like the way they fly. I had a disaster time trying to tune my setup last year. But here is how they turned out. The arrows started out with straight fletch blazers. Now they have right helical feathers. Increased accuracy tremendously!

Now I forgot to add. I shoot NON EXPANDING regular Muzzy 100 gr. broadheads. The new MX line, which are not as long as the old ones. I did all this mass fletch testing while trying to get the most out of a fixed blade. The arrows are Easton Axis Nano-n-fused arrows. So getting the feathers, or anything to stick with that small of a diameter was kindof a trick. But once I got it all worked out they shoot great.

Sounds like you have about what I would like, always was a fan of feathers but with a left helical twist, still on the fence about a broadhead chioce, been a heavy fixed blade kiind of guy but may try a mechanical head .

Some of the plastic mini vanes I was look'n at mentioned (in the product disciption) that they were more for target shooters instead of hunting, I figured they were all the same but the again all Ive ever fletched were 4 inch feathers & vanes.

My absolute favorite is the quick fletch twisters 6 pack at academy is $17 and you can fletch your arrows in a matter of seconds. Plus in my experience they seem to hold up extremely well.
I fletched a few arrows last year and while practicing if an arrow went through a target the tips of the fletchings would start to pull up but after I cut those off and put on the quick fletchings not a single one has bent or ripped at all.

I put just a dab of glue on the front and rear of the feathers. Helps that. I guess I am just kindof a traditionalist when it comes to certain things...

I did that for the better part of last season myself.
My brother in law bought the quick fletchings and after he shot them time and time again I used 3 that he had left over and I fell in love all over again! lol
I bought a pack to fit the rest of my arrows and gotta say now I can't look back to the old way lol
They are extremely quick to put on and much much stronger.
BUT you can't beat traditions on something.
For a more practical use and no more maintenance gluing down ends again they are my choice now.

Jetman, glad you posted up, love me some real feathers but had no idea they made them like yours, called gateway feathers today & they put me onto http://www.greeneoutdoors.com/ , talked with a guy ther and you couldnt ask for better customer service, took my order & we chatted for sevral minutes after that, you can bet I'll be a repeat customer.

Thanks for the info. ( and ya'll give The Greene outdoors a try.)
