My wife is considering buying me a knew dog for our anniversary. I want a lab but I'm wanting to find a good breeder to buy from. I have one already that I bought to be a hunting dog and companion and turns out she hates water or any physical activities really. But do you guys know any reputable lab breeders that aren't too far from Chattanooga I don't care to drive a few hours but I don't need to have my weekend consumed by it either. Thanks in advance for any info.

When you consider the life of a dog, I think a weekend is little price to pay to get a reliable pup. I got my GSP from vapor_1 in Pulaski. He has lab pups for sale at the moment.

Good luck!

^^^^^^^THIS!

I have days and days and weeks and months invested in training my lab. Don't let a couple days deter you from getting the dog u want.

x2.
it took 2 weekends for me to pick my last lab and my brother was the breeder/trainer. I know it will be hard to do but if you can leave the wife at home while you are picking it out, if you want it for hunting.
I picked my out by tying a duck wing to a stick and string and watching to see how they reacted. 2 (out of 7) kept their attention to it for more than 10 minutes then we set the wing in the water to where they had to swim to it. I picked the one that was willing to go after it.

I'm sorry I should have clarified. I meant to travel to pick up the dog.

if your wanting one for hunting besure it comes from parents that are hunters or trial/test dogs.its a lot easier to get it out of them if they have it breed into them.there is usually a couple of litters on tn ducks.good luck
