I'm looking into a Vortex Diamondback scope 4x12x40. It's on sale. Any opinion on this scope? My twenty something year old Redfield is not as clear as it use to be and my eyes aren't as young either.

I think the diamondback series is a good scope for the money.
How much did you find it on sale for?

Seeing that you're in Leoma, go to Lawson's and find which scope you like and whichever one looks best through your eyes. Then get online and find it cheap and ask them to price match it. They're usually pretty flexible.

I looked at these scopes Sat seemed like a good however I preferred the one with adjustable objective... It cleared things up much better at 12 power.
Whittaker guns can save you about $50 on the one you were looking at.they have a website and will ship.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

What does adjustable objective mean?

The front objective lense of the scope is adjustable for different distances. Helps eliminate paralax and cleans up the image at different ranges. Think of it as an external focus adjustment.

I've got that one on just with the AO on my 243 and really like it. They also have no questions asked lifetime warranty which last time I check was transferable. So even if you found a used one and had issue send it back, or it would be a good selling point if you want to sell it later on.

I have the Vortex Viper HS 5-15x44. I almost like it better than my Zeiss Conquest.
