Great gun.... Try 110grains blackhorn powder(bh) with 250 gr shockwave or SST and a harvester black crush rib(bcr) sabot. This ought to do the trick. Harvester Pt Gold is another fine bullet as well as any Barnes bullet.

I had an Encore and shot 150 grains of 777 pellets and 250 gr shockwave bullets. I now have a smokeless 45/70 conversion for it.

I would check Bellem's website and maybe think about replacing the hinge pin with a slightly larger one they have. I got 2 of them they offer as a set and used the one that I didn't have to ream the hole and it really tightens it up. You can tel when you break it open and check to see if you have a little play in the hinge area, most Encores do.

Good guns, but everyone I have seen has one specific load and powder combo that it just loves and when you find it man is it something. Example, I have two friends that have identical encores and one shoots pellets and the other loose powder. Nether uses the same bullet either. Each can hit 8" steel plate at 225 yds every time.

My encore shoots heavier bullets better for some reason.
