If you can afford them (and most can't) Reconyx and BuckeyeCam are the most reliable. After that, it's all a crapshoot.

I have been pleased with my homebrews, although you're not going to find them for sale at Bass Pro or Wal-mart (as they are custom handmade using real Sony cameras).

My personal dilemma is only wanting to go with true blackflash on any new cams, refusing to buy another cam made in China, and not being able to justify the expense of a Reconyx. I think the blackflash technology is becoming more available in the homebrew arena, and probably need to be following up on that.

I keep hoping that some reputable commercial trail cam makers (such as Reconyx) will improve their image quality and reduce their prices (much like regular Nikon & Sony cameras). So far, that's been somewhat a pipe-dream, as Reconyx has continued it's 3.1 mp imager for years (with no price change), yet I can go buy a feature-rich 18 mp Nikon camera for a fraction the cost of a 3.0 mp camera a few years ago.

I've owned several different brands but the primos truth cam 35 is the best by far that I've owned!!!! Great pics and great battery life.

I love the dlc covert black 60 and at $130 in my opinion it just can't be beat, they are extremely reliable

Unfortunately, I'm reading some really bad early reviews of this camera. And that's too bad, as I had high hopes for it.

The Primos Supercharged Blackout.

Your timing made it "appear" you might be referring to the dlc covert black 60. \:\) Thanks for the clarification.
