Or does anyone there else look at the way there fletching is on the arrows when they are stuck into a target?
I like to look at what direction the cock feather is in on all the arrows I shoot. If 5 out of 6 arrows have the fletching all facing the same direction when stuck into the target. That, to me, may mean something is wrong with the #6 arrow......Or am I just over thinking this? Like with everything else, consistency is key right?

Lets say that 5 out of six cock feathers land at the 9 oclock position and there is one that is at the 4 oclock position. That means that during the distance of flight it has either over or under rotated to the intended target......also noticed that it may be slightly further from center then the rest.....

Jetman,
No it doesn't really translate to anything. The target it self will affect the rotation as it enters the butt. Some arrows will rotate more than others. Many things will affect that. The amount of lubricity on the shaft (oils from your hands), the rotational speed of the arrow in flight, the amount of friction imparted on the shaft by the target butt material, and the amount of wiggle or waggle imparted on the shaft from the shooters clean or not so clean release. Just to name a few. It doesn't take much to changes an arrows attitude in mid flight. So the bottom line is you can look at that as some kind of indicator, but in reality to glean any useful information from the position of the cock vane, you would need to isolate a vast amount of outside variables that would be too great to come to an imperical conclusion.

The best indicator of arrow flight consistency is the tunability of the arrows flight and consistency in arrow impact with broadheads. That will tell you what you are up against. Usually!

Lol thanks Hoss, My ADD compile with OCD mind wanders sometimes and I just happen to ponder the idea of it while pulling arrows the other day. Makes you stop and think though. I hope I have RUINED everyone that reads this! Just kidding, but food for thought!
