Picked up a 1974 vintage 336 in .35 Remington. Very pleased with it, but it just seems to me that $25-30 is a lot of money for 20 shells and, too, 200gr's are a bit heavy IMO for a deer-sized animal. So, I aim to handload for my bad-weather gun just like I do for everything else. Does anybody have any good suggestions for .35 Remington handloads for a Marlin 336?

My only load is a 200gr out of the Sierra manual 38.3gr of IMR4064 V-2000. I know you wanted something litter but this is all I got.

I have been reloading 35 this week.

38.5 gr IMR4064 200 Hornady CCI 200
34.5 gr IMR3031 200 Hornady CCI 200

I have used the 35 for years and used for deer and hogs.
I got it 1970 and paid for $87.00 new.

Get a boolit mould and cast your own, then you can shoot for real cheap. The 35 is ideal for this. Plus, if you are dead set on using lighter bullets, you can use a flat nose Keith style .357 pistol boolit mould in 158-180gr. Use wheel weights from a local tire store (some will give them to you if you talk to them real nice, but I usually give $30/5gal bucket) and you are set.

My classic .35 Rem load used a lot is 37.0/IMR 3031/200g corelokt. This may be on warm side but works great for me.
