I'm on a new lease this year and I'm trying to scope out a good area for early bow season. What kind of setup do you guys look for during early season! (Plots, bedding areas, Ect.)

It depends on what the deer are doing and the layout of the land.

If you post an aerial view/topo map, some guys on here are good at picking spots with those.

If available I set up on trails leading to bean fields. I hunt these spots in the evenings.

Personally, I set up over good sign on a ridge with good mast if I can.

Look for old mud holes that hold water , several oak trees in one place and check them to see of their dropping and what the ground looks like below them . Look for a persimmon tree that's dropping a few early especially after a storm.

If there is a field the deer are using I hunt trails inside the woods in the afternoon before they come out and feed. I hardly hunt in the mornings during the early season.

Usually hunt the water holes.May not be the same now.2 of the 4 farms i hunt now have irragation on the neighbors farms.Kinda puts puddles everywhere.

Still hunt the fence rows.Ease in and out and dont disturb the bedding areas.Wait em out.
