I've fletched arrows with faethers & vanes for a long time but havent done any carbons yet.

Since they use the smaller vanes which brand would be a good place to start ??

Use whatever vanes you want . You don't have to use the smaller vanes on carbon

Personally, i like blazers because they offer the best balance of control while not having a great loss of speed and nose. I use Loctite ultra control super glue gel (blue and black bottle). There is a thread from a few weeks ago for the steps in proper procedures in installing them as far as prep work.

I personally use blazers and I see no reasons to change so that's what I recommend.

Blazers are just a name brand to a 2" high profile style of vane. There are many makers of them these days that are the same exact thing except for the price and colors. The VaneTec 2.0 HP is an example of an alternative that is the same. The colors of the VaneTecs are better IMO and the prices are better.

100 cnt VaneTec 2" = $9.95
100 cnt Blazer 2" = $14.95
