I had posted on here yesterday that of you could plant five acres in wildlife food plot and have the other 90 farmed what would you plant and most people suggested winter wheat or chufa. Well, our 90 plus acres this year appears to only going to be winter wheat since they have to muve tree lines and get the land prepped since this will be our first year to have the land farmed. Is there anything we can plant that you can plant late and it benefit?

I know rye will grow on concrete, but I didnt think it was very beneficial to deer.

My land had about 100 acres of Rye planted on it last Winter and I never saw any indication that deer were eating it. If they were, it wasn't to any significant degree. Of course deer feed preference seems to vary a lot in different places so the deer where you live might devour the stuff.
I planted "No Plow" last Fall and for the 1st time my deer ate the brasicas quite a bit. The thing I like about "No Plow" is that it is a mix so that you have multiple chances of your deer liking at least one plant in the plot. I am talking about the Whitetail Institute "No Plow" by the way.
