The wife and I started work today on our fire pit area. I had to compromise since she didn't want a stone surround fire pit. We still have work to do to get the edges & sides finished.

My bil told me I will have problems with the sand washing our from between the pavers and has suggested a sand/polymer compound that hardens when watered. I guess I'll wait and see.

What would really make that look finished is me sitting in a lawn chair drinking a cold diet Dew while roasting a hot dog on a stick over a fire! \:D

Your bil is correct—Polymeric Joint Sand is what he was referring to and what should be used as the sand that goes on top of the pavers and is swept and tamped down in the cracks.
