I never shot at them but I did pour charcoal starter in there and tried to burn them out! Didn't work but I tried!

When I was a kid I was watching my grandmother hang clothes on the clothes line. She stops and hurries in the house and comes back out with a cast iron skillet. She stands near the clothes line for a minute then bends over and WHAM, she hits the ground. She then proceeds to dig up a crushed mole.

When I was a kid, we had outside cats. They would leave 3 or 4 a week on the back steps, sometimes.

WE have tried everything to get rid of moles, finally found a trap that works - Wire Tek 1001 EasySet Mole Eliminator Trap You can get them at Amazon. They are on the little pricey side but they work.

If you want to get rid of moles you gotta get rid of their food source. Read up on their diet (generally grubs or larvae stage beetles- especially jap beetles if I'm not mistaken).

Buy a product that kills their food source (i.e. an ortho type grub killer) and the moles will leave your yard. Then you can sit and watch your neighbor shoot into the ground.

That is what I did and they are gone.

I bet I spent over $1000.00 trying to get rid of the ones here. Yard was so bad my AC was sinking in the ground where they were digging. Bought 3 traps and in about 5 days I had caught 10 moles. This was last year, this year I've caught 3 and no mole sign what so ever now.

When I was a kid my grandfather used to drop me off in the fields where we had mole problems in specific areas. My job was to eliminate them. Find their the most recently tunnel being worked (fresher dirt). Step on the tunnel flattening it and then stand still for a while. When the mole begins working the tunnel again stomp the tunnel flat behind him to prevent his immediate escape and use a knife to flip him out of the ground. For some reason they really like working heavily during mid day around noon to 1-1:30.

The pellets work ok, not great but they get rid of some of them. They also have a trap at wal mart that looks like it would be pretty dang neat. They are horrible in my yard and it drives me crazy. I've heard that they're good for lawns if there isn't too many of them because it gets air into your soil but I don't know if that is true.
