Just lay-away'ed the **** out of a Remington model 721 .30-06 \:\)

The stock has a few dings in it and could use a sanding and re-finishing which is one thing I plan on doing. The action is incredibly smooth, the trigger breaks wicked smooth, the rifleing looks good and sharp. Comes with a Weaver K4 and weaver tip over rings and mounts.

$350

I didn't know you picked it up but when I saw you drooling all over the table I had a feeling.....

I've got an old Weaver K4 like that sitting in the cabinet. At their time they were excellent scopes and really look good on a classic. Mine came off of a sporterized P17 Enfield and I changed it for a newer 3-9 variable since the rifle wasn't a classic anyway. That'll go good with that classic though.

I may have to go back for their no tax weekend next Friday or Saturday. I have my eyes on one but will wait to save a few bucks. The one I'm looking at isn't in short supply like that 721. Good seeing you. Have fun with the new one.

Now should I refinish it or leave it as is or re-finish it. It lookds good from a distance but upclose you can see a ton of scratches in the wood. Not real deep but they are there.

I know I know I already said I would be refinishing it but I changed my mind

Put some oil on it and see how it looks. I took an old Sporterized 1903 Springfield that was in a nice piece of wood and nice checkering but had tons of handling marks and just used a little oil to cover the scratch marks. It looks nice and just has "Character". I've been happy with it the way it was. Depends on the rifle and condition I guess.
