We've been making home made Pizza lately, the kids really enjoy making them, and it beats the heck out of anything I have ever had at a restaurant (or delivery).

Prosciutto and home grown peppers(before) with fresh mozzarella :

Prosciutto and home grown peppers(after):

Its just a basic Pizza crust and whatever toppings you want to add.

A few things I think are critical is using bread flour instead of all purpose to get a crisper crust. Cook it as hot as you can possibly get your oven, I think pre-heating the pizza pan helps too, and precook your toppings at least half way to get rid of some moisture that could make the crust soggy.

We got an idea off of Disney Channel—take whole wheat pita bread, put a little pizza sauce on it and then add cheese and toppings and bake for a few minutes. The 2 and 4 year-old love it and it is something they can do and have fun with. It actually is quite good and is like a thin crust pizza. I experimented the other day and cut a hoagie roll in half and lightly toasted it and then added everything on top and it was very, very good as well. We love pizza in this house.
