Of the "wildlife species" available, anyone know the best to plant for whitetails?

The chestnuts, crab apples, persimmons, and plums from the ones they have listed. Some of the oaks as well.

For your situation, I would focus on the crab apples, persimmons and plums around the openings you already have.

I have planted over 2000 the last two yrs with help from a few friends, sawtooths, pines, dogwoods. I can tell you all about a dribble tool. Great trees for the price, but if buying sawtooths, I would go ahead and buy the preminum sized trees. Well worth it.

I'll probably use them since going to lower numbers! Had to use MDC before.

They have pretty good stuff. Cant beat the prices. I like to pot the hardwood trees and then plant the following year. Having pretty close to 100% success rate. I would rate the pine seedlings at fair quality.

I am going to get the hazelnuts. Anything that tastes that good has to be high on Mr. Deer's food list. I will plant 25 of them in a rectangle fashion on my lease, I know a place. Humping fertilizer & lime in won't be much fun but my Kids need the exercise.

Anyone have any experience with Hazelnuts and Deer?
