picked up the wife a new to us 30/30 what scope would you guys recommend for the 200-225 or under mark thanks

I'd look into a fixed power Leupold. Don't need much magnification with a 30-30.

I'd definitely recommend something 2-7 or 1-4.
(If wife doesn't do a lot of shooting, I'd recommend the 1-4, or a straight 2x fixed power.)

If you like the Redfield 2-7 x 33,
also take a look at the Burris Fullfield II 2-7 x 35.
The Burris may be a slightly better low-light scope.

iron sights(woods hunting)never hunted open fields,etc. with a 30/30 only due to other gun selections plus got a old top eject and never could get use to a side scope mount

x2 on the Burris. I have one on a Marlin in 35 Rem. and its has been great.
