Here's a tip on spook fishing (one of my faves)

First use a loop knot to tie on. It in creases action. if they keep missing it, use 6# line and run a small trailer hook off the back eye. Tie it about 6" long. Any longer, spoils the action. You'll be surprised at how efficient it is.

You heard it first here. \:\)

A regular Spook needs quite the once over before fishing it. Cut off the junk hooks and add back quality split rings and hooks. A split ring on the nose also does well and doesnt hurt the action any in place of the loop knot which is so imprtant on a Pop-R. I also fish a Spook on braided line which helps keep the nose up and will stick those slaps that will be missed with Mono.

gamakatsu hooks will help. split ring is much better than a loop knot for action.

Add a split ring to the front eye?

Add a split ring to the front eye?

Yessir, the line tie, gives it more free action and actually makes a lil more noise rattling around, works great and doesn't hurt the action at all on a Spook.
