Parents have decided to let our land be farmed, I am excited to see what this will do for the hunting. There is no crop land within a 4-5 mile radius of our place. We also have a creek flowing through the land all year long, along with a small pond. Here are some pictures of the land. In the next year it will look like a different place, it's beautiful now...but I think the crops will benefit the deer herd and make the land look even better. One question under one CRP agreement on a few acres they say we must plant a wildlife food plot of at least .5 acre and not exceeding 5 acres, what would you plant?

If it were me, and you are going to have other row crops, I would plant a wildlife plot that would benefit another species like quail.

Well, that's something I didn't think of but honestly I have not seen a quail there in the last 7-8 years. I was thinking of trying something different but not sure what.

I would also suggest winter wheat, but I would also like the idea of having quail around, because I sure do miss those wonderful tasting birds.
