Gaaaaaah!!! so I must have run into some tire gremlins.

First I was taking my dad fishing last week. Ran over the rough tracks on buffalo valley rd and jacked up a trailer tire which blew out on I-40 a few minutes later.

Second... on monday I noticed I had a roofing nail in my driver side rear tire....

10 minutes ago I was heading to the barn. Heard a bad noise and got out....somehow I got an old philips head screw driver stuck through the inner side wall of my OTHER rear tire !!!!

Now Im almost afraid to get near anything with wheels.

Can you put a tube in a car/truck tire or is it trashed ?

Used to put a tube in them, just make sure there is nothing left that will puncher the tube. Even go as far as putting a patch on the inside where the hole was.

Talking about bad luck.....geeeeez!

You can fix the tire as long as a couple of things are in order—the hole is no bigger than one quarter of an inch, it is not at the sidewall and the tire is fixed correctly with a patch and filler plug and the patch doesn't ride up on the sidewall. Putting a tube in a radial tire should only be viewed as a temporary solution.

If it is on the sidewall as you stated, it is done and a tube shouldn't be considered a possibility due to the sidewall of a tire is the backbone of the tire and has great pressures put on it—in a weakened state you're asking for trouble.
