Really seen the most on aplles,crab apples,and plums.Not much on the pears,sawtooths,or others.

Just remember there are many varieties of cicada. Some are on 11 year cycles, some on 13 year cycles, and some on 17 year cycles. However, most of those long-cycles cicadas come out in May. Other varieties of cicada come out every year (annual cycle) and they appear later in the summer (usually late June through July) than the long-cycle cicadas.

Yep, they have tore the new top leaves from one of my cherry trees. They are also hitting my apples, pears, peaches, plums, and some in my blue berries! They are pretty much leaving my figs alone.

What is the best pesticide to kill these little beetles? I've tried Bonide fruit tree spray and Triazicide. Seemed to have good results until the 3" of rain Monday night. The bugs swarmed the trees afterwards, giving me short time to retreat.

I've been seeing a trickle of japanese beetles over the past couple of weeks. If they follow their usual pattern, I expect that their numbers will explode within the next week or so. I have a weeping cherry tree behind the house that they love - I have seen them virtually completely strip it of leaves in one day.

Sevin is effective against them. You just have to be sure and reapply it after every rain.
