After 3 months of complete silence my landholder finally responded and agreed to re-lease the land. It ain't big but surrounded by a lot of no-hunting-allowed land and we know every square inch. Can't wait to get out there. I'm going to be late as usual but we are excited.

Question for those that have been losing ground: Is the land changing hands, lease rates going up/outbid, or did the landowner just decide not to lease this year?

I looked for a lease in Fayette for over a year, wrote over 75 letters, called 20 or 30 Real Estate agents.

No secret to the process, just a lot of work.

We lost our lease due to the landowners son taking over, his ideas of a lease weren't negotiable.
He wanted less members and more money and for us to kill less deer. We had 24 members on 3500 acres. He only wanted 10 members, so you can imagine what the cost was! Put it this way, would you pay 3,000 to kill only 2 bucks???

My folks live in Fayette off Tomlin Rd. in Oakland. My Brother in law has 1000 acres there. I need to pester him to let me hunt. There are some whoppers in Fayette.

Just got on a lease in Fayette myself near Moscow after we lost our Hardeman Co lease. What part of the county will you be hunting?
