hunter0925,
Most Trackers I have looked at the storage and layout is what I like best about them.
My big issue (deal breaker for me) with all the mod v trackers is how low they sit in the water.
Just don't care for the water to be so close to the top edge of the boat.
I like the v bottom ones though.
The SuperGuide I am looking at has a 15 gallon live well. Has a removable bait bucket too. Whatever that is. \:D

I sold my perfectly fine jon boat that was just to small for a growing family and bought new.....sort of. It is a model end close out and I got a heck of a deal on it. I threw out an offer and they said sure. Many boat dealers right now are trying to get rid of their old stock for the new boats coming in. Go to a dealer and just give out an offer. I asked for $5000 below NADA retail and they said "Sure, we can sell it to you for that price". I can't find one of these boats anywhere for the price I paid. Most are $5000 and higher for the same set up brand new.

I just know that when I put one bass in my live well (when I had my Tracker) that it was full. Putting more fish in would have resulted in dead fish. The live well would be fine for bream/crappie but a bit small if going for bass or catfish. JMO

I really like my boat and the way it is laid out. It is also easy to duck hunt from. Will be replacing one depthfinder with a humminbird 798 this week. It will go almost 4 mph with just he trolling motor. It also is as stable as a fiberglass boat in the water, nothing like the trackers I have seen that lean so much.

I did most all work myself, installing depthfinders, stereo (speakers are hid now), blue led in livewell, dualpro 3 bank charger, trolling motor, drop tray for foot pedal (had to reinforce deck under seat base), camo mat, vt-2 livewell vents, auto bilge pump switch, command link, front trim switch among other things I modified. love the mat, it is soft and stays fairly cool.

#1 - Based on the amount you've been using yours so far, there is no doubt whatever you buy will get good use. DON'T bother fixing a 1985 POS. Buy a new motor at the very least. You can't go wrong with a Yamaha 4-stroke. Quiet as he11, gas efficient and it's wonderful not having to fool with mixing gas.

#2 - If you're checking out things at the dealer, it is clear you have bitten by the new-boat bug. Might as well just go ahead and give in to it.

#3 - Lot's of folks make very good boats. In actuality I NEVER hear of anyone having a problem with the "boat" part, no matter what the brand. Complaints are always based on the engine or the accessories... electronics, livewells, plumping, steering, etc. I'm on my second G3 and Yamaha 4-stroke. Other than routine maintenance neither one has ever been back to the dealer for any reason. And my boats are on the water getting hard use at least 80 days a year, usually more. I'm a G3 believer.

#4 - As for low profile versus deep-v, I've had both. I am really liking the deep-v. These days I get in a low profile boat and feel like I'm going to fall out any second.

#5 - I suggest you at least look at a G3 Angler V167: http://www.g3boats.com/angler_v167_c_-_economical_multi-species_aluminum_deep_v_fishing_boat

Have fun deciding?

You know me too well rsimms. \:D

That is the exact G3 that I pulled up on their site to look into further. \:D

I never thought I would like the deep v but I really do like it.
