Perhaps the Corps of Engineers has issued a Catfish Restriction, confining them behind the buoys?

Sorry. \:\(

Night or day? Night seems to be much better as the temps climb into Summer.

COE needs to get on it and remove their buoys before someone drifts into one and gets hurt. They are officially illegal now and the law states that they must be removed! I had to dodge them yesterday evening drifting below Cordell Hull dam.

We haven't been having a whole lot of luck either. We went out saturday night at old hickory and got on a few, but they all came around 11:00 within thrirty minutes of each other. Caught two flatties and a male channel. I don't believe i know of anyone that is doing great on old hickory right now, could be the weather made them late to come off their beds, I'm not sure I'm still not use to this area so I don't know when they usually come off their beds here. Seems like everyone all around us is doing very well. Also I would recommend trying fresh cut shad. Hope you have some better luck

I'm not on lakes like Old Hickory and Priest but all the cats I've been catching this year were in 38-45 ft of water. That's on the TN River though so idk. I would try deeper or at night.
