Will be in Panama City 6/29-7/6 and want to do a charter trip. The big party boat type trips is all I have ever done and looking for something different, less people and bigger fish. I kno gag grouper comes in July 1, are these good to eat or fun to catch? Does anyone have and recommendations on a charter or captain?
Thanks!!

I just got back from there yesterday, we went out on a private charter (Not Guilty) and a party boat (The Captain Anderson) we paid $145.00/per person on the Not Guilty for a 7hr trip we went out about 20 miles and caught several fish and limited out on red snapper but the size wasn't very impressive and it took all day and several moves to find them however I did feel like we got our moneys worth. We went out on the Captain Anderson 0n a 10hr trip for $80.00 and caught very few fish, it seemed like 8 1/2 hours of boat ride and an 1 1/2 hour fishing trip. I was very disappointed we would literally pull up on a spot drop our lines fish five minutes and move again whether we caught fish or not. We stayed tangled up and no one there to enforce the rules had one guy squeeze his son in between him and another guy which was shoulder to shoulder at best. If we go back next year I will probably spend a little more money and take a 48hr trip which were obviously a lot more productive. I also recommend using the fish market at Andersons marina to filet and pack your catch we used the one in the other marina and wasn't very happy. We caught a couple nice grouper on the Not Guilty and a King Mackerel as well as several b-liners.

Who runs 48 hour charters there?

There are a couple charters that do the 2 day charters out of Captain Andersons Marina I cant remember the name of the boat but they had 6 or 8 people on the boat and it took them 30 minutes to unload all the fish they caught this pic was taken before they finished unloading They had a huge tuna not in the pic and several more fish
