Went ahead and bit the bullet and bought a 40 pound thrust trolling motor earlier today.

Got it home and spent way too much time getting it mounted.

I was minutes from being done and I thought outloud... this piece of crap looks like the only way it will mount and work right is on the transom.

Flipped the box over 118 times and nothing.
Pulled the manual out again and looked on the cover... "transom mount trolling motor".

Of course it is the only one they had and I called two more walmarts and nobody in the departments can tell me anything.

Pretty funny actually I got the exact same quote from two different people at two different stores:

"I really don't know much about trolling motors."

That's ok sweetie, I don't guess I do either.

is it the mount or the propulsion, if you cant turn the head 180 degrees, just attatch the bat cable backwards

Turn the head 180 degrees. Open it up, remove the shaft pin, spin the head, replace the pin.

I don't know if it can be done on them all, but I did it to two transom mount Minn Kota motors that spent the rest of their careers with me on the bow.

take the screw out of the head & turn it & put it back in,done that with mine for the toon,works great

x2 I did this on my transom mount TM and now I use it on the bow since the gas motor is on the back.
