Prayerful meditation.
Hours on stand seem like minutes.

I can sit, stand, and scan my surroundings as I mentally wander.

When something enters my "memorized peripheral vision" I alert.

I enjoy Time2Hunt, gives sunrise, sunset, GPS locations, potential preferable times to hunt, etc...

Scoutlook! and whitetail calls.....both free.
The problem in America is not that ungodly people have said yes to ungodly things, but rather that Godly people have refused to say "no" to ungodly things.

I haven't had mine long enough to use hunting but I downloaded the free version of Trimble GPS hunt, what used to be cabela's recon hunt. It seems pretty cool & I will probably buy the full version. I also have the Kindle app & iBooks so I can read books if I want to.

I use an iPhone, so the ones I'll list below are from the iTunes App Store. Currently, I have the following (but I don't use them all):

Mossy Oak Hunting Weather, RT Compass, Realtree Base Station, Shooting Hours, iHunt Calls, Distance Map, Shot Simulator, iSolunar, F&S Rut Reporters, RangeFinder, and TWRA

I use Mossy Oak Hunting Weather the most. I log locations, sign, and check the weather. The compass is probably my next most-used, and tied with that is the Distance Map. The Distance Map is definitely accurate enough for rifle season. For bow season, I use the RangeFinder, which is more of a calculator for stand height and the increased distance that adds (it's not a real rangefinder), and Shot Simulator, which helps me determine how long to wait before I trail the deer.

The TWRA "app" is really just a bookmarked icon so I can check from the field.
No hunt is all skill. If not for a little luck, no one would hunt.

I'm also going to use the cover that recharges the battery. I, too, like to read while I wait, but I don't like toting in books and such. Without that cover, the battery can be gone by lunch on an all day sit if I'm reading, checking maps, looking at Facebook, or whatever else.
