whos ready for squirrel season?...i know i am.......any suggestions for cooking fresh harvested or frozen tree rat?
If they are tough older squirrels a pressure cooker or crock pot will tenderize em real good.Take your favorite chicken and dumplin recipe sub squirrel for the chicken.
Buttermilk is your friend! Soaked over-night in the fridge even the oldest tree rats come out tender. I plan on shootin alot around the house to just get rid of some this fall.
