Im thinking about putting cor n on a spot where there are a bunch of trees in rows about 30 feet apart. They are just in tubes and haven't reached the top yet.My question is how long have most of you guys let corn stand?Im thinking about a couple years for the cover alone. Will the deer just eat all the corn and then go somewhere else or will they keep coming in there and bed down? I'm thinking about 6 rows maybe 20 feet wide and 300 feet long.

Not quite sure if I'm reading your note correctly, but the corn won't remain standing for years and years. Even if you didn't mow it the wind, rain, decomposition, and other elements will bring it to the ground within months after it matures.

Ok well I was thinking it would hang for a couple years,.Would it still be a good thing to let it stay there that long, provided I kept plenty of other fields going at the same time with other stuff.

It wont stand much after November around here after the deer knock it down to eat. Its a great hunting plot if big enough acreage that the deer wont wipe out in a few weeks.

Yeah, it's amazing how fast corn deteriorates after frost kills it. Still as an annual crop that both feeds and provides cover in early hunting season, it's definitely worthwhile for me.
