no deer hunting signs \:\) ,find a crossing in a fence line & put it there to cut down on the beef pictures

I wouldn't allow cows on my property if I wanted to hunt it. ;\)

Sounds like it is not his property and has no control over that. We used the trophy rock in the corner of the wooded area when we hunted where there were cows (thank goodness we found another spot, they were a pain!). At times we got some cow pics but most were deer. If you can block the area off with a couple strands of wire that will help also.

Hunted a place for several years that had cows. All the pasture land had woods mixed in and the wood lots had wire around them to keep the cows out. If that is what you got try walking the fence line to find where the deer are crossing and hang some on the wooded side. Cows won't cross over and the deer will usually almost stop before they cross it giving you a good pic. Also the cows would keep a path clear by the fence giving a nice quite way in and out.

I hate running cameras with cows. Any attractant you use will net you hundreds of cow pics. Cows also like to rub their backs/butts on the trees with cameras. Had several broken cameras or mounts.

You might just try scouting for well-established trails and using a camera with no bait/attractant. I would steer clear of deer urine and other curiosity scents, because they do as much harm as good in that situation.

Either that, or build your own mini-enclosure with wire, as others have said, that the deer would still come to and allow you to put out some food/salt.

I took a hand saw and dropped a few trees in an area to funnel deer past my stand. I found a part of a trail that went past some fruit/nut trees that would cause them to slow down. In your situation, the deer are probably eating more browse than a single particular food source at this time of the year.

Thanks all for the advise.. the 2 bucks I've been seeing have real big bodies. They look mature.. so I'm trying to stay out. No one has hunted the property in many many years. Its 150 acres 5 minutes from the house.. I'm so excited I can't stand it.
