Why don't you try Quail Ridge Golf course since you live in Bartlett. Not sure what the Bartlett Police would think about it.

We went and didn't have any luck. I did call the BPD and they told me as long as Quail Ridge gave permission they wouldn't mess with us.

You might try Stoneridge Park in Bartlett on Alturia road. The banks are a little steep for gigging, but I have heard bullfrogs out there before (haven't been at dusk this year).

Another park that I would suspect has a lot of frogs is the lake on N Shelby Oaks Drive across from Onyx Medical Corp. I fished it a couple times last year with very little luck, but the shoreline is very flat. Even better, parts of the bank aren't manicured, which will hold more frogs. I have no idea if the lake is open after dark, but the adjacent facility has a roving security guard - hopefully they leave you alone :).

Bartlett has a lot of city park lakes, and the parks are open until 11 I think. Might go to their website and see if there are others I'm forgetting besides these. If I didn't mention them, it's because they generally are manicured to the edge and have poor habitat.

Yale Road park has a pond with crappy shoreline, but there's a creek/ditch beside it along the railroad tracks that might be froggy.

WJ Freeman park has no official water on it, but it adjoins a creek on the back end that I used to fish in. The area is very snaky, but would have tons of frogs I bet. That creek is fed by a ditch that runs back into Bartlett. There's some empty bank access behind EasyWay Produce on Stage Rd that might be worth checking.

Also check access points along the Wolf River (Germantown Parkway is one place to start). There are parks and oxbow lakes over there that don't always close at dark. Shelby Farms would be awesome, but I think the park closes at dusk...

We did visit the area on Shelby Oaks with very little luck.
Only one seen. Also hit a couple of Golf courses in the Cordova
area with no luck.. I was thinking about Stoneridge but have
not been there. Only thing I worry about doing this around
the city is the police.

It's a public lake that allows fishing, and you aren't using any firearms. It might be worth double-checking the Bartlett parks and recreation site to make sure it's not specifically excluded.

If you go to WJ Freeman on Bartlett Blvd, drive all the way to the back by the ball fields. Walk past the fields to the tree line to find that creek, but be aware that you may have to look around a bit to find a spot to get down to the water. If you look to the right (north), you'll see the little ditch that feeds it.

I haven't been back there in a couple years, so I'm not positive what it looks like anymore.

Have you ever tried catching them with a pole and line ?? A long Crappie pole with a piece of red flannel on a hook works. Slip up behind em and dangle it in ft of them.

I always gigged at night but carried my pole for day time scouting or deep ditches .

Me and the wife went back out tonight and caught 4. Def. do not
have the right light, will post some pics soon. Got to get a
different gig too. The ones we were using were something I
made from some tree I cut down in the backyard. Did the job
long enough to understand that light and the pole we were
using was not up to par. But had a good time doing it.
