finally getting into reloading. My brother has reloaded for me for years, and now my friend does it for me.
I will probably go with a RCBS single stage press.
Any thoughts or other companies I should look at. My buddy has and really likes his Dillon, but those things are high.

RCBS is a good choice as would be Lyman and (gasp) Lee. Stay far away rom Smart Reloader presses. If you are reloading pistol then keep your eyes open for estate sales and garage sales because a progressive is awful helpful.

With your Borther or Friend as mentor, you ar a serious leg up on most folks trying to get started.

See if you can borrow enough powder & primers to find your best performing deer load and then haunt the web and locals for just those components. I see some slight breaks in the inventory situtation but I think it'll be next spring before normal comes back to us.

I like the Redding Big Boss press, or the Big Boss II which has a spent primer collector added. If you go RCBS get an older one made in the 80`s if possible, they have a date stamp on top. I`d go with electric scale as they are so fast its really nice. I just added a 2 speed battery powered trickler and cannot wait to try it out. I also upgraded my scale to a Gem Pro 250. Have not set it up either. Was going to this weekend, maybe I can still pull it off!!!

I have a lee press and nothing bad to say about it. I also have lee dies and my only complaint with those is if you break a decapping pin you can't get just a placement like rcbs.

I reloaded with a RCBS Rockchucker since 1985 up until about 3yrs. ago. I replaced it with a Forster Co-Ax press. I like the Forster better but have nothing bad to say about the old Rockchucker. As stated above, get an old one in good shape if you can find one.
