I have said before that the overwhelming number of liberal educators in American secondary education and American universities have heavily influenced the young adults of America and America's youth. Here is further proof. Note the last sentence in the quoted paragraph.

"Back in January, the BSA executive committee had suggested a plan to give sponsors of local Scout units the option of admitting gays as both youth members and adult leaders or continuing to exclude them. However, the plan won little praise, and the BSA changed course after assessing responses to surveys sent out starting in February to members of the Scouting community.

Of the more than 200,000 leaders, parents and youth members who responded, 61 percent supported the current policy of excluding gays, while 34 percent opposed it. Most parents of young Scouts, as well as youth members themselves, opposed the ban."

A sizable majority of American young people support Obama, Democrats, gay marriage and gays in the Boy Scouts. Welcome to the future of America, brought to you by the American education system and American media.

The Methodist Church said last year they would continue to support the BSA. I'm sure others will too.

United Methodist,Congregational Methodist, or all of the different divisions?

A warning: Canadian scouts fled after open-door policy

A looming vote today by the Boy Scouts of America could set the historic organization on a path that destroys its already-struggling membership.

Approximately 1,400 delegates, meeting today in Grapevine, Texas, will vote on a proposal to admit openly homosexual youths into the scouting program.

Canada voted in 1998 to allow open homosexuals, and participation in the scouting program plummeted, says Rob Schwarzwalder, a spokesman for the Family Research Council.

Schwarzwalder

"Within a space of 10 years participation in Canada's scouting program had fallen by 50 percent, so we think that actually the fallout [in the United States] could be much greater," Schwarzwalder says.

Why? The FRC spokesman points out that approximately 70 percent of scout troops are chartered at faith-based institutions, and many troop sponsors have spoken out against allowing open homosexuality in the Boy Scouts.

OneNewsNow reported in February that Brian Rushfeldt of Canada Family Action was warning Americans to avoid the actions of his countrymen.

OneNewsNow reported: "The board of governors overseeing scouting in Canada decided to admit females, atheists, agnostics, homosexuals, bisexuals, and transsexuals into scouting." Scouting rolls dropped from 300,000 to 130,000.

"I think that this move in the United States will be similar," Rushfeldt said at the time. "It will kill the organization and, of course, that's tragic."

The Boy Scouts has approximately 2.7 million Scouts and 1 million volunteers. The organization's membership statistics reflect an ongoing decline in scout numbers.

Mario Diaz, legal counsel at Concerned Women for America, tells OneNewsNow that a vote that permits homosexual scouts - but bars them from adult leadership - is a red flag that is inviting lawsuits.

"What you're saying is that once a youth goes through the entire program, the day he turns 18 then he's kicked out of the program...," says Diaz.

The CWFA attorney urges the Scouts to stay on the high moral ground it has held since its founding in 1910, and is hopeful the organization's leadership rejects the proposal.

Stupid has consequences.

This is an excellent opportunity for some of those "old outdated haters" to splinter off from the BSA and start a newer better scouting organization.

Take the best parts of the old BSA program and do their own organization while avoiding the PC mistakes of the doomed BSA.
