I love having my own pond. It's almost two acres is all but it is so nice to walk to on a Sunday evening and catch fish. My bass are not monsters by any stretch but they are growing. I added more bluegill and they have established well. This helps with my bass growing. I also started thinning the bass, and that is helping to get bigger fish.

Have you considered putting tilapia in it in the spring for vegetation control, forage fish, and extra fishing opportunity?

They die off in the winter (I'm told), but they grow like crazy. You can catch them on worms below a float, they taste great, and are really cool looking.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Tilapia would wipe out that filamentous algae in the pic. Stock some quarter pounders in there right now and they would be spawning within a week. Massive reproduction rate and largemouths love'em. They are an exotic and a member of the cichlid family, but the great thing about them in Tenn, the cold water will kill them. Once it gets in the upper 50's, they'll die, so you never worry about them taking over a pond. But you have to restock every spring...
