They actually had a committee that settled on the name of this place.

Carrol County Thousand Acre Recreational Lake

Really? \:D

Anyway, VERY nice facility and the most impressive thing to me was someone had the forethought to make a boat ramp wide enough to make it useable.
Very wide and nice.

Anyway, man caught the first bass and then I started catching them.
We ended up with 8 in the first hour we were there.
I had done some "pre-trip scouting" and knew of a spot I wanted to try and we were almost there when we went into a cove and I saw what I call a washing machine.

A butt load of bream in a spot no larger than the tub on a washing machine.

We started catching them and just couldn't quit.

Then we found the shellcrackers.

We threw the first two back and then decided we would keep them and let the bream go.

Finally man said he had had enough because we forgot the sun screen and we left.

I ended up with 5 bass and man had 3.
I had 35 bream and man got 23.
I had 5 shellcracker and man had 10.
We ended up keeping 13 of the shellcracker.

Really had a blast.

Gonna get there a little earlier next time and concentrate on bass a little longer. \:\)

What are the limits on the lake for bream and shell crackers? Were the fish good-sized? Been thinking of making the trip out there to explore, but there's not much info to be found on the Internet the last I checked.

Crosshairy,
The limit on bream and shellcracker is 20.
They put the two fish together in the limit as well.

The bream were plenty big enough to eat but they were right at 8" and I decided that with it being a "new" lake I would let them all go and let them grow a bit. I prefer my bream to be 9" before I keep them.
I think bream tend to get overfished and I wanted to do my small part of protecting them.

Granted of all the bream man and I caught, 58, probably 50 were big enough to eat and might not of made any difference at all, it just felt better to me letting them go.

I had put a two man limit of 20 shellcrackers on us too but it ended up we gave out before we reached that.

13 big shellcracker is plenty to take on a single trip anyway.

I like the lake and wanted to bass fish more but we didn't get there till 9:30 and after hitting the bream and shellcracker (the bass had seemed to stop biting) we never made it out of the first cove we fished. \:D

I didn't even look at the limit on bass, as I knew we weren't gonna keep any of them anyway.
